1. Windows : 

Windows is a group of various proprietary graphical operating systems which is provided by Microsoft Incorporation. It is also known as Microsoft Windows. It currently includes Windows NT and Windows IoT as members of its family. Earlier it included Windows 9x, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone which are no longer in use. It is the most used operating system in personal computers. The first version of Windows was launched by Microsoft in 1985. The most recent version of Windows for personal computers is Windows 10. 

2. iOS : 

iOS is a mobile operating system which is provided by Apple Incorporation. It is mainly designed for Apple mobile devices like iPhone and iPod Touch. It was earlier known as iPhone OS. It is a Unix-like operating systems which is based on Darwin(BSD) operating system. It is the world’s second most used mobile operating system after Android. It is mainly written in C, C++, Objective-C, assembly language and Swift. The first version of iOS was launched in 2007. The latest stable version of iOS is 13.1. 

Difference between Windows and iOS :

It was developed and is owned by Microsoft Incorporation.It was developed and is owned by Apple Incorporation.
It was launched in 1985.It was launched in 2007.
Current stable version is Windows 10.Current stable version is 13.1.
It is for workstation, personal computers, media center, tablets and embedded systems.Its target system type are smartphone, music player and tablet computer.
Computer architectures supported by Windows are IA-32, x86-64, IA-64, ARM, Alpha, MIPS and PowerPC.Computer architectures supported are ARMv8-A (iOS 7-present), ARMv7-A (iPhone OS 3-iOS 10) and ARMv6 (iPhone OS 1-iOS 4.2.1).
Kernel type is Hybrid with modules.Kernel type is Hybrid.
The native APIs are Win32 and NT API.The native APIs are Cocoa and BSD-POSIX.
Preferred license is Proprietary and Source available.Preferred license is Proprietary, APSL and GNU GPL.
Update management is Windows Update.Update management is Software Update.
It charges for original version.It is free of cost.
File systems supported are NTFS, FAT, ISO 9660, UDF, HFS+, FATX and HFS.File systems supported are HFS+ and APFS.
Windows uses a custom-made Kernel which is named Microsoft’s NT Kernel.Apple’s Darwin is used for iOS systems.
